Pretty Venom by Ella Fields was my first book by this author and what an impact did she make. Give me a great book with so much angst that will make me want to smack someone better yet throw my fucking Kindle to the wall hahaha just kidding my bed!! I wouldn't go that far but it did hit the wall so, does it count? Anyways I had no fucking regrets and if you give me all of what I just said then you'll have a fan for life and let me tell you Ella Fields YOU HAVE A FAN FOR LIFE!
LOVE a simple word that holds so much power.
We meet Renee Welsh and Callum when they were just teenagers. There was chemistry right from the start but then both their mothers start talking about marriage and not just any marriage but their own kids. Well, our hero took it as a threat and immediately start hating Renee.
I really like Renee Welsh. I felt like her character came to life since the very first smart remark she made to our hero.
As the story progresses Callum starts to bully Renee until one day she starts to ignore him and suddenly this sparks a flame of mix emotions. Callum couldn't control it anymore and one simple kiss and everything changes. Their love starts to blossom throughout high school and they did the one crazy thing for just them. Marriage.
Oh man, when college starts everything gets complicated, boundaries are about to be broken, love is about to be tested, simple words as vows are about to be tested, and our couple is about to get tested in the rawest and unhealthy way. Would their love survive? Or the temptations are about to destroy them? I'm telling you!! This angst is no fucking joke! And as I'm writing this review I just want to go back and experience it all over again.
Callum is a hero that you will hate with all your guts all at the same time love him because you understand his rage and hurt. I understand why many would hate him but I also understand real life and this here is some raw and real shit. He probably took it to some other level of hurt but give him a chance! To be honest I was scared and thrilled about how these two soul mates were going to make it back to each other and i was soo rooting for them. The plot and twist this author did to this story made it more real and magical. I absolutely loved how it all played out.
Overall I put my stamp of recommendation in this book to all my angst lovers that can handle some cheating, name calling, hot steamy and heart-wrenching scenes, believe in second chances, love well-written enemies to lovers trope, foremost would love to FEEL EVERYTHING the characters are feeling this book is for you. There's a reason my babe Jess from Chatterbooks Book blog calls Ella Fields "Queen of the feels" she'll indeed make you feel every single emotion possible. Anyways,
I finished this book three days ago and I'm seriously fucked, guys! I can't seem to open another book, just yet... I still need to gather my thoughts and still live through this phenomenal story! Dammit, all the ANGST had me all crazy! Although, I personally think the author could've used a tiny bit more of Angst and I would've cried. Don't get me wrong I fell in love with this author's writing, amazing characters, and an amazing story to top it off and she did make me love and hate the hero all at the same time my heart was cracking but I didn't cry and I guess I was waiting for that moment. Am I heartless bitch? I don't think so lol With that being said I can't fucking wait to see what other AMAZING ideas this author has planned for us. I know for sure I would love them! Now, please excuse me while I go and plan to read all of her other books because I NEED MORE of these characters and this author's writing and more of this amazing feeling she left behind.
